Chakra System How to Activate Chakras in the Human Body

A chakra, also known as a wheel, is a Sanskrit term for a prana or energy point in our bodies that can be found in places such as the veins, arteries, and nerves. Chakras were known as several types of energy in ancient India. These Chakras have also been used as a location of focus for meditation to activate our Kundalini. The human body is thought to be made up of seven major chakras, which can be effectively awakened by practicing yoga and chanting mantras. If you practice particular mudras, it can also help activate specific chakras. Every Chakra has its own set of mudras and mantras that can be used to activate the chakras.

In this article, we will discuss how to activate chakras in the human body.

What are Chakras?

There are a total of seven key energy centers in the human body, extending from head to toe, called chakras. These Chakras provide subtle energy to the different processes of the body, mind, and intellect.

The chakras have certain colors and energies that relate to a gland in the body. And each chakra in our body has different purposes to serve. It is believed that if the chakras are blocked or unbalanced, they can cause physical, psychological, and emotional problems. It is said that the awareness, understanding, and balance of these energy centers bring well-being and good health. So, it is important to balance these chakras effectively.

The 7 Chakras In  the Human Body

  • Crown Chakra (Sahasrara Chakra)
  • Third Eye Chakra (Ajna Chakra)
  • Throat Chakra (Vishuddha Chakra)
  • Heart Chakra (Anahata Chakra)
  • Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura Chakra)
  • Sacral Chakra (Svadhishthana Chakra)
  • Root Chakra (Muladhara Chakra)

How To Activate Chakras In the Human Body?

Each of the seven Chakras corresponds to specific sites or body parts in the human body. Such Chakras need to be activated or balanced so that our bodies function more efficiently physically and emotionally. This harmony can be established through yoga, Mudras, and mantras while energizing and creating some specified reactions in the body.

Mudras To Activate Chakra

Swadishthana

In a comfortable seated posture with your back straight, focus attention at the point about one inch below your navel and spine. Place the palm of the right hand over the left palm with the hands facing upwards in your lap. The tips of the thumbs lightly touch. Deep Inhalation and then Exhalation. Repeat 5-6 times.

Muladhara

Sit comfortably and straight. Focus your attention on the perineum. Then try to create a circle with your thumbs and forefingers. The hands must rest upon the knees, palms upward facing. Inhale and then exhale very deeply. Do this 5-6 times.

Ajna

Next, having sat straight with the back in a straight position, focus your attention on the area of your third eye—from the area above your brows to cervical vertebra number one and around the outside of your head. Next, form a heart by touching the tips of the thumbs together with the forefinger, pinky, and ring finger at the second phalange. Next, lift the middle fingers to provide a crown. Your hands should be raised in front of the solar plexus and third eye or lying on your lap. Inhale deeply and exhale completely.

Mantras To Activate Chakra

Other than yoga poses and mudras, certain mantras are also helpful in activating the chakras. If the mantras are chanted properly they can be really helpful. Mantra chanting to activate specific Chakras should be done in your natural voice. Furthermore, using a high or low-pitched voice in mantra chanting does not help activate the Chakras.

Conclusion

The seven chakras are the powerful energy centers within our body that maintain perfect physical and emotional balance for life. Therefore, it is quite important to focus on these chakras and balance them to restore the missing balance. At a more profound level, balancing your chakras would bring you closer to your inner self, making you aware of what you are truly capable of.
